Michael Dillon, Ed.D., ACC
I specialize in coaching new, emerging, and aspiring leaders, professional and life changes, career transitions, growing emotional intelligence, leading organizational change, and talent development.
My Story
I was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and currently reside in Lansing, MI. I am happily married, have 2 adult children, a grandchild, and a feisty Cairn Terrier named Foxy. I like to be with my amazing wife and family, hike, bike, relax near beautiful Michigan water, read, watch a good show or movie, or discover new restaurants.
After my first career in finance, I transitioned into being a professor following the 2008 market crash, and discovered a passion for facilitating learning and development in others. I took a particular interest in exploring how people can improve self-awareness and thrive personally and within organizations and teams, and how leaders can show up to promote a positive culture. As a professor, I am fortunate to witness growth in others regularly.
As a lifelong learner, I have obtained a Dual BA in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University, an Ed.D. in Adult Education and Human Resource and Organizational Development from the University of Georgia, a Project Management Certificate at Central Michigan University, and a Coaching Certificate from Loyola Maryland.

"Michael has been great to work with. He’s been great at helping me learn to sort through my thoughts and get to some helpful solutions. I appreciate that he provides a non-judgmental space no matter how big or small elements we discuss seem. He has used different and creative ways to help me think more outside the box."

"I worked with Michael as my coach and found him to be both insightful and deeply attentive to the challenges I was navigating. He listens carefully, asks the right questions, and helps you see patterns in your thinking and leadership approach that are difficult to recognize on your own. Through our work together, I gained clearer priorities and greater confidence in how I approached key decisions and conversations. Michael combines genuine care with practical experience, which makes his coaching both supportive and actionable. I would confidently recommend him to any leader looking to grow their effectiveness."
